Around here, it's that time of year again. Things are blooming and pollen is in the air. In the spring your thoughts are supposed to turn to love, or so the saying goes. In these parts, your thoughts turn to which allergy medication will work.
This year the old allergy demon sneaked up on me and I wasn't prepared. Seems things started blooming earlier than expected. You know how it is, that morning you are fine and by afternoon you are sneezing what little brains you have left, out.
A box of tissue doesn't even last a whole afternoon, you have a red nose and teary eyes. You must fee miserable.
When this came on, I ran to the drugstore on my break and gave a quick look around. I saw a bright yellow box with green writing and I did recognize the name of Tylenol. I grabbed the box, paid and hurried back to work. We only get a 15 minute break so you do things very quickly.
After checking out the box at my desk I realized that I had purchased Tylenol Allergy Sinus Maximum Strength Multi-Symptom Daytime Relief, Gelcaps. Yeah, I was lucky on that one. It was for daytime and not night. At this point, I didn't care if it made me sleepy or not. I would call someone to take me home.
Tylenol states that this helps relieve the following,
Temporarily relieves:
nasal congestion
headache
itchy, water eyes
sinus pressure
runny nose
itching of the nose or throat
sinus pain
sneezing
We, we are about to find out once I find the directions on the package. Here they are, right in plain sight.
Do not take more than directed.
Adults and children 12 years and over
Take 2 caplets every 4-6 hours as needed.
Do not take more than 8 caplets in 24 hours.
I went to the Coke machine and purchased a bottle of water. Wouldn't you know it, I left my bottled water at home that day.
Once I tore the box of Tylenol Allergy Sinus Maximum Strength Multi-Symptom Daytime Relief, Gelcaps open, I pulled out a sheet of caplets. There are two caplets to a blister pack. You are supposed to bend the corner back and peel. Didn't work that way for me. I ended up using a pair of scissors and cutting them out of the package.
Opened the bottle of water and took the two caplets. The Caplets went down smoothly and didn't feel like they were sticking in my throat like so many others do.
Oh darn, the phone rings and I have to answer it. It's bad enough that I am in my cube by myself and working, not to mention I have to answer the phone. Excuse me while I do this.
Achoo, thank you, achoo, for, achoo, calling. Click. They hung up. Really, that wasn't nice of them.
Now back to what I was doing before I was interrupted. Drat, the phone again. Thank you, achoo, for calling, achoo, how can I help, achoo, you? Person on the other end....you do need to get some help for your problem. Click. Now why would they think that? Achoo. I thought everyone called places just to hear sneezing.
It's been about an hour now and my mouth is getting dry and my nose isn't running as much and the sneezing has slowed way down. I can now answer the phone, mute it and sneeze and go back to answering the person's question.
Two hours later and I am doing fine. Just a little bit of a sneeze and runny nose. Hey, I am beginning to not be a one person sneezing machine. My eyes aren't watering, but my mouth is very dry. Not a problem here. Just drink more water is all.
Nice, I don't have that headache that comes along with the sneezing when using Tylenol Allergy Sinus Maximum Strength Multi-Symptom Daytime Relief, Gelcaps. I gently placed my package of Tylenol Allergy Sinus Maximum Strength Multi-Symptom Daytime Relief, Gelcapsin my cabinet in case this started again tomorrow. On my way home I will pick up one for the house.
As for not causing drowsiness, it doesn't work. You do get sleepy when Tylenol Allergy Sinus Maximum Strength Multi-Symptom Daytime Relief, Gelcaps, or at lest I do. While this does work, I will not be using it on a daily basis because of the drowsiness that comes with it. I am just grateful that this worked for me so I could get back to doing what I was supposed to be doing.
I do highly recommend Tylenol Allergy Sinus Maximum Strength Multi-Symptom Daytime Relief, Gelcaps for occasional use. If you have allergies that last more than a couple of days then I do suggest seeing your Doctor or your Nurse Practitioner.
