| jcweaver's Full Review: U-Line Origins Series 75R (6 cu. ft.) Refrigerator |
We purchased a U-line 75R undercounter refrigerator in early December 2005 to replace another unit (Sub-Zero brand) that went out after a long life. We selected a U-line model based on the advice of an appliance salesman, trying to get a reliable unit while not sinking a fortune. We paid $800 for the unit.
When we installed the unit, it did not begin to cool. When the appliance store was contacted the next day about this situation, we were advised it takes about 24 hours for the initial cooling. Taking their advice, we waited a few more days with still no cooling evident in the unit. A service tech was dispatched to the house to look at the unit. Upon seeing the fan blade not rotating, the service tech barely touched the blade and it took off spinning.
Our frustration is with the poor follow-up service from the appliance store and manufacturer (not the service tech). While the unit may be currently functioning, our confidence in the long-term performance of this unit is low, particularly considering we paid full price for a new appliance that did not work when installed.
Therefore, anyone considering this unit should be wary of this brand.
