Re: Thanks so much, Patty (Reply to this comment)

I just saw it for $131.00 (and if you belong to ebates.com, I think you get either 3% or 5% back) on some website. That's a great price but be warned. It's BRIGHT and takes a little getting used to. You can always dim it like I do most of the time. I only use it on the high setting for about 45 minutes a day. Then I dim it as I would any light.

I may write a piece on it in the WC. It is really misunderstood and very few people believe it is real but I know it is. It's like clockwork, September comes and I feel like...half the person I was. By May, I feel better. Unless I use the light. It had really helped and I don't believe it is a placebo kind of thing.

It depends on what you want. If you just want more light and clearer bright light, changing the bulbs is fine. If you want benefits of raising the serotonin levels and possibly having more energy/less depression, you have to have a 10,000 lux (55 Watt) lamp or box and sit in front of it for about 30 minutes every day.
Otherwise, the bulbs are great. I prefer the lamps because I need all the bright light I can get to stay feeling zippity do da all year long :)

I'm really glad you wrote about this lamp, and I am considering getting one now. However, I am confused. Is it important to get a lamp like this one that you have reviewed, or can I just change my regular light-bulbs to full-spectrum light bulbs, in the lamps I already own?
Thanks

I was also took a bit off guard by seeing this lamp in the outdoors head lamps area. :) A change up is good for a person now and then. I think the Winter months affect everyone a little. Maybe that's why those who can head for Arizona and Florida. Take care...

Definitely full spectrum lighting is better for all especially in these dreary months. My house is dark all the time so it really helps me here.
Thanks for the comment!

Great Review (Reply to this comment)

I just finished changing a bunch of light-bulbs in my house to the full-spectrum grow lights. I figure a bit of artifical sunlight can't hurt anyone, especially after that week and a half of clouds and rain we just had.

This and all the full spectrum lights are already in the DB in this category. I have NO CLUE why. This is home lighting and certainly has nothing to do with sports and outdoors except it brings a little outdoors in. So that must be it. lol.
I was as surprised as anyone to see the whole section under the sporting goods category.

lol I have no idea why this is under headlamps and flashights. But it works for me!
Full Spectrum lighting should be a part of everyone's home not just people who want to hibernate all winter like me.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. :)

I know! I was shocked when I looked it up and saw it landed under that categories. It's in with the flashlights! lol
I definitely think it is a Wellness or Home and Garden item but I'm not complaining :)

Thanks. I was getting a little bored in the same areas so I looked around for other things I could review and was happy to see this in the DB...oddly under sports and outdoors! lol

This is quite the headlamp! Patty, you never mentioned how you were able to mount this light on your head... :) Great job bringing out the strong points on this light.
Full spectrum lighting is so much better for your eyes and state of mental health. I have a similar light at my desk and since I've started using it my headaches have all but vanished.
Thanks for sharing,
Abraham
