| wildguzzi's Full Review: Uniden LRD6100SWS Radar Detector |
I've had this radar detector on my motorcycle for 2 years now. It's loud enough to hear while at cruising speeds. I've been caught in rain storms and the detector would get wet and quit. After drying out, it would fire back up and keep on ticking. I bought this detector in an online auction for $20, and by my rough estimates at $100 per ticket, I figure it has saved me about $500. Have had no complaints with it so far.
For many miles this detector has stepped up and performed for me. I could do with less false alarms, but then again they act as reminders to be safe.
While on a trip in Kansas last year, the detector was going nuts in an open area where no obvious civil servants could be seen. I ignored it, and there he was, an undercover unmarked got me. He was teasing me that the buster didnt help me, I said it was talking, but I wasnt listening. He let me off with a warning since I was only doing 9 over.
