| superfrosty's Full Review: Union Oyster House |
The Union Oyster House, established in 1826, is America's oldest restauraunt. It was here that some students from Harvard invented the toothpick. JFK ate here regularly, and if you make a reservation, you can eat at his favorite table.
It is in an historic old building, which is oddly put together because of additions, and which is rather dark. Across the street is a hideous "Holocaust Museum," which completely spoils the atmosphere. The size of the building means that there is almost never a wait. Make a reservation is you want a specific table - like the JFK table.
The food here is excellent, but expensive. You must have the lobster. Of course, all of the seafod is good. Also try the clam chowder, which is creamy and thick.
If you come to Boston, you MUST come to the Union Oyster House!
