| mr.burns's Full Review: Union Oyster House |
I have had the privledge to eat at this fine establishment in August of this year. I must say, I was very impressed... with the history, the food being mediocre.
Walking in for the first time, already knowing it was the oldest eatery in the U.S., I was a bit taken back. I am a huge history buff, so this was a really neat experience, being able to dine out yet learning about the history at the same time.
It is a two story building, with wooden floors. It is dimly lit, with very old wooden decore. The look and smell inside said it was a very old place. And that it is, which was established in 1896.
The food was average for the seafood that I got. The clam chowder however, was the best I've ever eaten. And I am a New England clam chowder maniac. The service being very friendly and the prices being the same.
I highly recommend it espesially if you are a tourist. The atmosphere is like very unique. You will enjoy it.
Special Notes, Tips or Menu Recommendations: I recommend the New England clam chowder!!
