I never had any experience with Uniroyal tires until I purchased my 1997 GMC Jimmy. It had Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires as standard equipment. I didn't like them from the beginning because they howled even when just turning into a parking space at low speed but I am not one just to replace brand new tires. At about 10,000 miles, I was driving on the highway and my vehicle began shaking. The right front tire had blown out due to tread seperation. Uniroyal refused to pay me anything or give me a free tire because they said I must have hit a pothole or let the pressure get too low. THAT IS BULL! I take care of my vehicles, tires included. I recently saw where a lawsuit was going on for this same problem with Uniroyals and I also found out they were made by Michelin. I guess Michelin just doesn't put their name on some of the cheap sorry junk they make. As for my Uniroyals, once they got 30,000 miles on them, I replaced them with a set of Grand Am Radial G/Ts. (made by Multi-Mile). Much better overall tires and will probably last about 80,000 miles. I wouldn't even buy a new car with Uniroyals without the dealer agreeing to change them first. I wouldn't want to put my life in danger.
