| anewlife's Full Review: United National Bank - West Virginia |
Way back when I was in high school, a group of local businessmen started the Westover Bank. It was a small, community based bank, small enough to give its customers the "personal touch", small enough to appreciate their business.
Westover Bank has since become a branch of United Bank, but it still has the same customer service orientation. It is the kind of place where the tellers will call you by your first name instead of asking for identification, and take a little extra time to give good service.
I have had good experiences with different financial issues. I first chose United to open an account because they had the highest paying money market account in town. When I opened my accounts, the clerk was very patient and explained the different accounts and helped me choose the ones that would fit my needs the best. They have also been very helpful with transferring funds for a real estate purchase, faxing and notorizing documents, and other help with my accounts.
I also moved my business account to United because the bank where I had it before started to charge fees for deposits, and United had much better terms.
I personally do not like internet banking, so I won't comment on the website, but you can access your account online if you want to.
