cocktailsfirst's Full Review: Logitech Harmony® 880 LCD Remote Control
After waiting too long with 3 remotes on the coffee table, I purchased the Harmony 880 from Amazon for $129.00.
Right out of the box it looked and felt great. I charged it while installing the configuration software. After entering my DirecTV TiVo, Sony receiver, Sony VCR, Sony DVD and Panasonic projector model numbers and answering a few questions, the remote was ready for basic use. It worked great and the IR was much more strong than any of my original equipment remotes. Looks good too.
I spent the next hour fine tuning specific functions of the remote. Time consuming and a lot of trial and error but it's well worth it to have everything I need at my finger tips. There's still some programing left to do but it's more than capable of performing all basic and most advanced functions I need it for.
Even with the extended setup, it's easier to program than other, more expensive remotes I've used. It's nice to know that the remotes software is on line and will continue to be updated as new hardware rolls out.
