Pros: Easiest and quickest way to load a pistol magazine ever.
Cons: Would like to see a model made for smaller caliber handguns.
I purchased the Uplula universal magazine loader shortly after the purchase of my new semi-auto pistol. I had used this particular make and model pistol before, and the only thing I disliked about it was the force needed to press the rounds in to the clip. I found the Uplula while surfing the web one day, and after watching the Youtube video of how it works, I immediately wanted one!
The Uplula truly is a universal loader! It operates by pressing the unit downward on the feed mechanism of the clip, loading a round, and then lifting upward while unsqueezing the unit at the same time. You continue in this manner until the clip is loaded! It was so easy to use that I had a 15 round clip loaded in about 20 seconds. There was no straining on my thumbs, no cursing the too-tight spring in the magazine, and there was no wear & tear on the feed lips of the magazine itself. It works both on single and double stack clips.
The Uplula website says it will load clips for all calibers between 9mm and .45, however I've seen other reviews that said it worked on even some smaller (a
.380 I think). I personally used mine for a .40 cal pistol magazine. Way to go Uplula! Two very enthusiastic thumbs up!
