| Magick1's Full Review: V8 Fusion Strawberry and Banana LIGHT |
I love to drink the V8 V-Fusion blends that V8 has out on the market. My daughter was asking for some juice. Normally, I only have this type of juice in the house, because she doesnt drink very much juice. Since she has begun to ask for it occasionally, I told her she could have some of mommys juice and that made her interested.
I got her a very small glass and she was thrilled with the taste. I was pleasantly surprised! She asked for seconds, which thrilled me more. After she drank down this other little glass (roughly 2 ounces each glass), I asked her if she knew what she was drinking. She said mommys juice and I told her yes, but what kind of juice. We played a game with the juice for a while and I pointed out that it was strawberry and banana, she was surprised. I always offer her strawberries and she declines them every time. But, she got a sparkle in her eyes when I told her this juice had strawberries in it! Maybe, this summer, she will venture into strawberry land and enjoy their delightful flavors with me!
But, I am digressing. I told her that she was drinking vegetables in this juice too, which absolutely shocked her. She asked which vegetables and I told her that she had a mixture of 9 vegetable and fruit juices in that 1 little glass! She was amazed, but stated that she loves this juice and when we went to the store, she saw the bottle and picked up some more! That tells me a lot!
The Product
This is a light drink which states that it contains 50% less calories and sugar than the V8 Fusion Strawberry Banana drink contains! The drink itself contains ¼ cup of fruit and a ¼ cup of vegetables from your daily recommended intake!
The product has a sweet taste like youd expect from a juice product. Its not thick and its not terrible tasting. It truly is delicious and hard to believe they are sneaking vegetables into these drinks and they taste that good! The American Heart Association states that this drink meets the American Heart Association food criteria for saturated fat and cholesterol for healthy people over age 2; in case you look for these endorsements on products you drink or eat!
If you purchase any of the larger bottles of these drinks, they will separate somewhat so be sure to give the bottle a great big shake to mix everything up again. The color for this drink is a fruit punch colored (red) drink and there can be color variations in the drink due to the ingredients. The smell is inviting and sweet, like strawberries and can really draw you into it. If someone did a blindfolded taste test, I believe most people would be shocked to learn about this drink. They would be shocked that the drink contained vegetables!
The Ingredients
Reconstituted vegetable juice blend (water, and concentrated juices of sweet potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, beets), reconstituted fruit juice blend (water and concentrated juices of apples, oranges, strawberries, and clarified bananas), contains less than 2% of the following: natural flavoring, ascorbic acid (added to help retain color), citric acid, banana puree (bananas, ascorbic acid to maintain color), sucralose, vitamin E (alpha tocopheryl acetate).

Overall Impressions
I think Campbell Soup Company, the makers of this drink, should be very proud of the product they are producing. The flavor is wonderful and you truly think you are drinking a sweet fruit juice. You truly are fooled by your taste buds on this one! The flavor is rich and sweet without being terribly sweet and terrible for you. Just look at the vitamins, you get 100% of vitamin C!
Another true test I have in my house is my daughter. As I mentioned, she actually wanted to purchase more of this juice and picked out some the last time we went shopping. This time, she grabbed another flavor (blueberry pomegranate), and she loves this one as well! I would much rather purchase this for her than some of the juices on the market. If I can get an extra helping of vegetables and fruits for myself and for her, I will try it! And, this drink is a great one that makes you feel like you are being bad, but you are actually being good to yourself! If you are looking for something better to drink (over sodas and other items), buy a small version of this drink (or a flavor you prefer) and give it a chance. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!
They offer a variety of flavors, as listed: pomegranate blueberry, strawberry banana, tropical orange, peach mango and Acai mixed berry in the fully loaded version and in the light version they offer only strawberry banana and peach mango. You can find out more information at the website listed on the product label, www.v8vfusion.com. If you try it, I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
