Pros: Quick, fast, colors, and supports nearly ever plug and play hardware
Cons: Several windows based games cannot be emulated but there are several others which offset this.
The Bottom Line: I would say the quick, free, and easy download is well worth it. In the end this is an all and one solution to problems which typically arise with Windows.

My father is a one size fits all Windows user who demands that Windows be the formative operating system. Being that as it is one day I handed him my lap top. Within five minutes of pointing in clicking and going through the routines of checking e-mail's and auctions he was surprised that it ran faster then windows. In fact my laptop has a higher download and nearly double speed then when I ran Vista. As a result this has become my primary operating system. For ease of use there's always the terminal commands for those more tech savvy as they say. The clicking through windows is a breeze and when the updates are installed and the computer runs smoothly there's easily a higher amount of usage then lower amounts of time spent trick shooting through device manager. For an example let's use the time spent between Basket and One Note.
The Basket loads in a matter of seconds while the One Note spends time compiling, applying, and then adding on the same materials which Basket goes straight through. As well let's review Open Office on both systems in Windows the time to open is triple that of the optimized speeds on a laptop or personal computer. Now for those who complain about it being hard for the new users there's always the package manager and automatic updates. As a result my father found it much easier even when running my laptop to go through and help to update my computer.
On the whole it's easily described that as a big jump in the communities. As a life long Windows user the switch was easy after learning the terminal commands and swapping over my learned techniques from that point was a scaffolding. Making it also much easier is writing observations for early childhood development and forming portfolio's. All within seconds can be opened and edited having used the Windows format in maintaining notes and forming homework solutions one of my key focuses swiftly became adversity. One Note loaded much more slowly and in fact many of the child's action were much harder to note. While using the other it ran much faster and all this with better grammar and spelling checks.
As for the games there's a lot to be played from the first person Open Arena to the puzzle style games. I run several things on this system and my computer holds it together perfectly. Running a draft n card, with 2 gig of ram, and 200 gig hard drive. The hard ware is an Intel with a 1.6 gig processor. The explosiveness and speed makes it much faster then windows, more secure, and with updates loading in a mere matter of seconds or Windows.
