I work part time for a marketing company that demos different products and I was unlucky enough to try the Viactiv Chocolate Raspberry Crunch Energy Bar. I did the demo in a Kroger store and had several people to try these bars, both the young and old. Not many people like them. I can not stand the after taste they leave in your mouth.
I had 2 cases left over after my demo, so I thought I would try to eat them because they are very good for you. I could not force myself to eat them after taking only one bite. However, my mother likes them. She likes the Viactiv Chocolate Raspberry Crunch Energy Bar with her morning coffee. She has said that they taste like a chocolate rice crispies treat. She says it gives her enough energy to get through the morning. I never got past the first bite to know if they gave me energy or not.
The price is what will definitely get you. They retail for $3.89 for four 1.6 ounce bars. They are nice size bars, but I have not finished one. The bars are nicely packaged in bright purple boxes and they are really eye catching.
Here is how they add up as far as nutrition goes:
Fat Grams: 4.5g
Sodium: 90mg
Total Carb.: 28g
Sugars: 17g
Protein: 6g
If you can get past the taste they are really good for your health. They add several vitamins and minerals to your body in a snack form.
Here is the vitamin and mineral content:
Calcium: 30%
Vitamin K: 50%
Vitamin B6: 100%
Vitamin B12: 100%
Folic Acid: 100%
Phosphorus: 15%
Zinc: 100%
Iron: 10%
When I was doing the demo, I did not sell any of the packages that were on the shelf. I would not have them if the company had not sent me so many. I do like the other Viactiv products though, like the Fruit Smoothies, Spritzers, and the Fruit Crispy Bars (future epinions).
I can not honestly recommend the Viactiv Chocolate Raspberry Crunch Energy Bar because of the taste, but that is just my opinion. Like I said, my mother likes them. I have not tried the Apple Crunch, so I will not even say as to how they would taste.
