We love Nyquil, so we thought this was just a non-drowsy version. WRONG!
We went into a WalMart looking for Nyquil for my husband as he had been sick and we had ran out. What we found was a neat package that was half Nyquil and half Dayquil. At the time we had heard of Dayquil, but had never tried it. We thought that this would be perfect as my husband had already missed a day of work and we couldn't afford another one. This was an answer to our prayers! Or so we thought.
He took the Nyquil and slept great thru the night. When he got up for work, he took the Dayquil. He called me at lunch and he sounded awful! I could hear how congested he was when he talked. His labored breathing from being so stuffed up. He had taken a dose with him, as he worked a 8 1/2 hour shift with a 1/2 hour for lunch, so he could take it after the first 4-6 hours, as directed on the package. He took them with his lunch. Well, when he came home, he was worse than when had left for work. I couldn't believe it! He took a Nyquil and went to bed. He was exhausted. Not only had it not eased his congestion, it had made him drowsy. Not really enough to fall asleep, but enough to make him woozy.
We didn't use the rest of the Dayquil in that package and never bought it again. I didn't bother with it, myself. My husband usually has more of a reaction to medication like that than I do. I knew that if it didn't work for him, it wouldn't work for me. He very seldom takes medications(macho man-not! LOL) so they usually hit him like a ton of bricks. Having allergies and such, I could take a truck load of some meds and not even notice.
We were very disappointed in this product. Nyquil worked so well and we expected the same results out of this, but I guess that we expected to much.
