| loves2run's Full Review: Vicks NyQuil Liquid |
My husband does not get ill very often so when he came home one evening complaining of a stuffy head, body aches and was running a fever, I knew he had the flu. Luckily, I had some Vicks® NyQuil, “the nighttime, sniffling, sneezing, coughing, aching, stuffy head, fever so you can rest and have a good morning medicine” in my medicine cabinet. My husband is the type of person, when he is not feeling well, he wants to “sleep it off”. With Vicks® NyQuil he can do just that.
VICKS® NYQUIL
Vicks® NyQuil has been around relieving cold and flu symptoms since I was a child. It comes in two flavors, original and cherry. My husband prefers the original flavor and I prefer the cherry flavor, but let’s face it, both are extremely nasty tasting. No sipping this medicine, it is head back and get it all in one gulp and sputter till the taste of it goes away or you fall asleep, whichever comes first. Usually sleep will come first.
Does it work? If you want to sleep and not spend the night (or day) aching, coughing, sneezing, etc. then this works well. This is not a medication to be taken if you just want to feel better and then get on with your day. NyQuil will knock you out for at least six to eight hours.

RECOMMENDATION
Vicks® NyQuil contains alcohol so caution should be taken when using this product. However, if taken properly, it can be a great product for helping relieve cold and flu symptoms. It will let you get the rest you need so that you will feel better more quickly. The taste of this medication is a definite con.
FYI
My husband and I have tried the generic brands of NyQuil, but we find they are not as effective. For some reason, the generic brands do not relieve our coughing or congestion, thus we spend the night awake and suffering instead of getting the sleep we need.
