Pros: Wonderful relief for coughing and nasal congestion. Menthol smell makes it even better!
Cons: None that I can think of right now.
The Bottom Line: Its very soothing and you will be able to relax with the wonderful combination of cough suppressants.

I can remember when I was a child. My Grandmother and Mother would use this on me all the time because I was a chronic bronchitis patient. I got bronchitis every time some one mentioned the word.
I remember the smell of Vicks VapoRub the most.
What does Vicks VapoRub do for you?
The active ingredients in Vicks VapoRub work naturally through the inhalation of medicated vapors to help relieve nasal congestion and coughing. It will also relieve minor muscle aches and pains.
What are the active ingredients that help through inhalation?
These are the 3 actives used for colds:
Camphor 4.8% which helps with nasal congestion and cough suppressant.
Menthol 2.6% which also is a cough suppressant and helps with the nasal congestion. The menthol smell is what makes Vicks VapoRub wonderful to me.
Eucalyptus Oil 1.2% This is also does the same for cough and nasal congestion.
With the three combined ingredients you will feel a temporary relief for all symptoms associated to common colds or bronchitis.
When using Vicks VapoRub for Muscle aches and pains the active ingredients are slightly different. The difference is the Eucalyptus Oil. That is simply for congestion and cough suppressant.
Warnings and Directions for usage
Do NOT get in eyes or put into your mouth.
If your cough persist for more than a week or reoccurs then you need to seek medical attention. It maybe more than a common cold that needs to be treated with antibiotics.
Directions for usage: Adults and children 2 years and older- apply to the chest and throat area. Rub on a thick layer. Keep the clothing loose to let the vapors rise to the nose and mouth.
For the muscle aches and pains rub on the sore area.
What I love about Vicks
I love Vicks smell. I also love the calming feeling after being up coughing away all night and putting this on for relief. Vicks VapoRub usually takes effect in about 2-3 minutes after application. Its wonderful if its the middle of the night and you have a coughing child that just can’t stop. This will soothe them and hopefully they will rest better. As I said before this will work for bronchitis as well. I use Vicks sometimes when my nose is congested just for the smell. It has a very strong Menthol smell that relaxes me.
We as a family have never had any side effects to the medication. I would suggest if you do develop a rash, fever, or headache discontinue the use of Vicks VapoRub and consult a doctor.
How much is this wonderful Vicks?
I purchased my jar of Vicks at Target for about $4.00 its a 1.5 oz jar.
This has lasted us about 9 months so far, so it goes a long way for such a wonderful relief.
You can buy it at any drug store, Target, Wal-Mart, some gas stations even sell it. It will be a little steep at a convenient store, but its worth it in the middle of the night.
