Introduction
I've been a big fan of Victoria's Secret lotions for years. I used to like their Vanilla Lace fragrance, and then Pear Glace became my favorite. But as the scented lotion phenomenon caught on and less expensive copycat/generic scented lotions came out, I gave up on my Victoria's Secret and didn't purchase anything for several years.
LOVE AT FIRST SCENT
While at a friend's house - a friend who has two daughters that are very much into the Victoria's Secret scented products, I was asked whether or not I liked Love Spell, and WOW, I fell in love on the spot!
I find it SO difficult to describe in words what something smells like, but I do know that I prefer fruity and sweet scents and this has both!
From the www.victoriassecret.com website, the scent is described perfectly as:
"a lavishly lush blend of cherry blossom, muguet, red apple, and Georgia peach with hints of tamarind and blondewood."
Now that's some fruit salad! Yummy!
SILKENING BODY LOTION
I didn't have a lot of money to spend, so the choice for me was whether to buy the body lotion, body spray, or shower gel. I chose the lotion because I knew from past experience that it would last me longer than shower gel or spray, which I would use daily. Lotion I only use as a special treat.
I paid full price since I purchased from the internet and so the 8 oz. bottle cost $9.00. Was it worth it? You bet!
APPLICATION
The lotion is very thick and small amounts are easily dispensed. It glides easily onto skin - I usually recommend that lotion be applied when skin is slightly damp. It is SLIGHTLY purple to match the labeling.
RESULTS?
VERY soft skin and a wonderful scent that isn't overpowering. In fact, I wish the scent would linger more than it does, but I've heard that the human nose gets used to scents very quickly, which is why some people pour on perfume or cologne and don't realize they are overwhelming the outside world!
The lotion is NOT GREASY at all.
CONCLUSION
This is a wonderful, non-greasy lotion that smells divine. I would recommend trying it, and yet don't purchase online - I would go into a local store if you can and wait for a special.
One other concern I have with this scent is that it MAY be discontinued at any time. This happened with Pear Glace in the early 1990's and was so disappointing! You just never know what Victoria's Secret is going to do with their Garden Line of scents - so stock up if you like Love Spell!
