moonsista's Full Review: Victoria s Secret Pink Lip Butter
Victoria's Secret's beauty, bath and body products are products that I come back to repeatedly, probably a couple of times a year. When I come back to check out what is new, I always find something new that I want to try. The Pink line is not one that I've been impressed with over the last year or two, and isn't one that I even take all that seriously - but when I saw that they had a lip butter, I wanted to try it, mainly because I'm a lip balm freak. I'm so glad I did, as this is a really great product!
Product Details:
Victoria's Secret Pink Lip Butter is a natural, organic lip balm that comes in a clear plastic tube. It's an over-sized lip balm in that it is quite a bit wider than most standard lip balms.
This Lip Butter comes in two colors/scents - Ripe, which is a light pink (but looks much darker on the Victoria's Secret website, and Pure, which is clear. I'm not sure what the Pure version smells like, but the Ripe version smells like fresh strawberries. There is .26 of product in each tube.

I have many lip products, many of which are lip balms. I am always putting something on my lips, and during the winter months I go through a lot of lip balm. I apply it over and under lipstick and sometimes I put it on by itself if I'm about to go outside. My lips are really prone to getting chapped, and I like to have something on my lips at all times. I really didn't think that the Victoria's Secret Pink Lip Butter would be a serious lip butter, but it has really turned out to be one of the best I've ever used.
First, I like that this lip butter is over-sized. I miss the old days in the 80's when I could find a good, fat lip balm. This one is probably a good 1/4 wider/fatter than a regular lip balm. I am not really sure why I like the bigger lip balms - I just do.
The packaging for Victoria's Secret Pink Lip Butter is a bit generic. I'm not a fan of the clear tube and the generic paper label, which, on my tube, bubbles up and is annoying. While I'm at it, I also really don't like the Pink logo which is a weird version of some sort of collegiate logo probably designed to appeal to high school and college students.
Even though the Lip Butter shade I chose - Ripe - is pink in color, it doesn't show up pink on my lips. It shows up clear on my lips. Even if I were to apply it to the most pale part of my body, my wrist, it would show up clear. It adds no color or tint at all to the lips. My Ripe shade smells great - it smells like fresh strawberries with sugar on them. It's not your average, generic, vaguely fruity type of "strawberry" scent, it really smells like fresh strawberries with sugar on them. It's a fresh, sweet scent and is one that I enjoy every time I use this product.
Victoria's Secret Pink Lip Butter applies to the lips easily and is not at all waxy like some lip balms. It is very smooth, feels moisturizing from the start and is not at all greasy or waxy. It has quite a few moisturizing ingredients and has the feel of a great quality lip balm. My lips feel soft and moisturized from the second I apply this until a while after it wears off. It lasts a good hour or more on my lips when I'm drinking something, and closer to an hour and a half if I'm not drinking anything. It doesn't last at all through eating, of course. I have had lip balms that last ten minutes on my lips - so the fact that I can get an hour or more of wear from this lip butter is great.
I'm surprised at how moisturizing this product is. Even after it wears off, my lips still feel moisturized and soft. This is going to be a perfect lip balm for this winter - actually, it's already "chapped lips season" here in Ohio, as it's been pretty cold here the last couple of weeks.
This lip butter has no flavor. Despite smelling like strawberries, it doesn't taste like strawberries. It has no taste at all, which is fine with me. I am OK that it isn't flavored - and I like it even more that it doesn't have a waxy, weird taste when I apply it. And speaking of the strawberry scent, that doesn't last long. I would say it lasts only about ten minutes or so after applying the lip butter.
There is quite a bit of product in my Victoria's Secret Pink Lip Butter, and I've been using it for a couple of months now and haven't even used half of it. This lip butter will last for months even if you use it every day.
Overall, I highly recommend this lip butter, as it is one of the best lip produts I've ever used. I especially like how well it moisturizes my lips, but all of its other qualities are good as well. I am glad I took a chance on this product, as I almost dismissed it as a cheap Pink product.
