Pros: Shampoo and Conditioner in one, no residue or flat hair.
Cons: Older bottles are not transparent, expensive if not on sale.
The Bottom Line: For those on the run, this is a great way to save a few minutes. Not recommended for everyday use since the conditioner doesn;t provide much protection.

| Freak369's Full Review: Vidal Sasson Active Care 2 In 1 |
It’s not often that I get to brag about my coupon conquests, let alone finding someone to listen to my child like squeals of excitement at getting things for almost nothing. So, whether you like it or not, you’ll have to endure yet another rant about shampoos and coupons. Since I have a lot of pets I need to buy several Sunday newspapers at a time to line cages and for potty training the four-legged creatures. A month of so ago there were coupons for Vidal Sassoon hair care products. $1.00 off [which gets doubled to $2.00 off] and the very next week another coupon for ‘buy one – get one free’. Being the conscious consumer that I am, I thought it about time that I checked out the Sassoon line.
Being that they were on sale at the time [$2.49 each] my final cost would be .49 cents per bottle. Not a bad bottom line considering that some of the products are close to $5.99 when not on sale. I’m normally not the person that gets all excited about 2-In-1 hair care products but I needed to find something to take with me to the gym since carrying two bottles in the gym bag just doubles the chances of a leak. I saw the Active Care 2 –In – 1 bottle and decided that for .49 cents I could at least give it a try.
Active Care 2 –In – 1
Just as the name states, it is a 2 – In – 1 product. Shampoo and conditioner all in one. After using it for a few weeks after my workouts at the gym I can honestly say that it is a great product for occasional use. Now, by that I mean it’s great for those on the run or when you can’t spend the extra time to apply a conditioner but I have to give it thumbs down for day-to-day use. When I used it for about a week straight I found my hair to be almost unmanageable about five days into it – there was a conditioner at work in the Active Care 2 –In – 1 but it wasn’t giving me the protection and softness that a regular conditioner provides.
The Pluses
The bottle is pretty solid, not that cheap plastic that some companies insist on using. I needed something that would put up with the abuse my gym bag endures on a regular basis as well as something that wouldn’t leak everywhere. Since this comes with a flip up lid rather than a pump it’s easy to transport. The scent is light and about 95% of it rinses away and what is left over is not offensive in the least.
One of the biggest factors in whether a shampoo or conditioner makes the grade in my book is the ‘slime factor’. You know, that feeling you get on your back after you are done rinsing your hair. If it’s slimy in the least – it get’s the boot out of the shower. Active Care 2 –In – 1 passes with flying colors in this department – no slime, no residue and no heavy after scent.
Minuses
While the flip up lid is a definite plus when it comes to providing protection against leaks – it is also a little tricky to get it open the first five or six times. The bottle I purchased is not transparent and I am hoping that they will change this over like the other products in the Sassoon series. It makes it a little tough to see exactly how much is left in the bottle so you might find yourself running out unexpectedly.
Some people might find it a little on the expensive side if it isn’t on sale or you don’t have coupons to use. Epinions lists this at $6.00 per bottle but stores in my area have this from $4.99 to $5.99 so check around for the best price. Target has this for $4.59 but they don’t double coupons.
OK, What’s In It?
Some people might think it is a tremendous waste of time and space to list the ingredients of a shampoo or conditioner – personally I like it when people add this – with the tremendous amount of allergies that plague people, this might just save someone some time in the long run if they know they can’t use it because it contains a certain product.

The Bottom Line
All in all, I am pretty pleased with Active Care 2 –In – 1; it’s performance, scent, effectiveness for occasional use and reputation as a Sassoon product were all either adequate or beyond my initial expectation
