This unit is very easy to use. The plates are easily changed out. The plates are a nice size allowing you to style your hair in less than 15 minutes. My girls have used other models that did not do what they were supposed to do or else it took forever to style hair. They mainly use this unit for straightening hair. Here in southern Louisiana we have lots of heat and humidity which leaves you with the frizzies. I give Vidal Sassoon Ionic Steam Straightener, Model VS183 5 Stars. It works very well, inexpensive and this one has now lasted for a good 6 months. We have also gotten better results from this unit than others that cost twice as much.
