atalante's Full Review: ViewSonic E70f 17 inch CRT Monitor
This came with my computer about 9 months ago. I believe it cost about $150.00 at the time.
This is actually the second one monitor of this type that I am on since then. The first one started showing trouble signs, and it was shipped back after about 3.5 months of use. The bulb was going bad. About 2 months later, Viewsonic sent me another one of the same type, and it has worked relatively well since then. However, the screen appears to crawl fairly often, which I do not believe is good.
If not for the quality problems, this seems to be an excellent monitor. It does take up space, which should be expected when you purchase a CRT monitor. The style is quite good, and the flat screen is nice. It has a feature called "UltraBrite" which gives you simple brightness control for brightening the screen for games, then movies, and then back to text. It is really quite nice, and doesn't greatly resize the display like our MAG monitor does with it's comparable feature. The menu operation is decent. As long as the monitor works, it shows good picture, wether in games, movies, or with text.
