| rice75's Full Review: ViewSonic GT775 CRT Monitor |
In my opinion, your computer monitor makes or breaks your computer experience. If you have a monitor with dark or cloudy colors, then everything from surfing the internet to reading email becomes a painful chore. But if you have a monitor with crisp colors and a bright display, even writing that proposal at 3 in the morning is enjoyable.
I currently use two different ViewSonic monitors. I use this one (the ViewSonic GT775) at work and I use a ViewSonic A90 at home. While I've had good experiences with both of them, they have been for different reasons. I'll do a review about the A90 later.
I do a variety of tasks at work (I'm a EE graduate student) and the ViewSonic GT775 suits each of these tasks well. Along with the regular email and internet research tasks, I also use a circuit layout program and other scientific programs. The crisp colors make reading and designing circuit layouts a breeze and easy on the eyes.

Setup and Control
If you find setting up a monitor difficult you might have deeper rooted problems than you think. Setup is a snap and can be done in a matter of minutes. The controls for the ViewSonic GT775 are all displayed on-screen and are controlled with the four buttons next to the on/off switch. The controls are also easy to use and give you a lot of control over customizing the screen. From brightness/contrast to screen geometry to color temperature, total control is only a couple button pushes away.
I haven't had a problem in the 1.5+ years I've been using this monitor but it does have a three year warranty. I've been very pleased with monitor. While it may not be the best in its class, it suits my needs and was just the right price. I would recommend this monitor to anyone looking for a solid monitor at a decent price.
