Pros: Bright and vibrant colors, space saving
Cons: Too many bad pixels, still expensive, wimpy speakers
The Bottom Line: Unless Viewsonic (and the industry for that matter) changes it's view on bad pixels policy (reduce to three!), and if space saving is not an issue, then buy a CRT.

| rosybarb's Full Review: ViewSonic VX900 19 inch LCD Monitor |
Flat panels may be the way of the future but lots of work need to be done in the present with bad pixels. If it's not for the bad pixels problem, I would have kept the monitor. The FPD offers sharp text and vibrant colors. Some complain about ghosting and fast movie scenes but those are not problems for me.
Upon using the monitor, I noticed one dead (black) pixel. When I watched a movie with dark scenes such as The Matrix, I began to notice too many "on" (always bright) pixels. These bad pixels bugged me a bit until I noticed that there were so many on pixels; the total bad pixels were more than the number (7) that Viewsonic allowed. I found the defects unacceptable and returned the monitor. I think the manufacturers should clean up their acts and address this bad pixels issue more. The arguement that it would cost too much to improve quality is a bunch of bull.
Another thing I wonder is why Viewsonic even put a pair of three watt speakers on it. Most people don't use them anyway and they make the monitor more bulky. Besides, anyone who has $900 to spend should be able to cough up a little more for more decent speakers. USB ports and headphone jack are useful but no one thought of them.
