| DeRango's Full Review: Visine Advanced Redness Reliever Eye Drops 1oz |
Anyone who has woken up after a long weekend to a Miserable Monday knows that Visine Advanced Relief is the first thing you grab to clear those red, dry, itchy, still stuck to the pillow crusty eyes. Placing the refreshing drops in your tear ducts instantly makes you feel more alert and awake. Refreshing is how you would most describe the overall feel of the product once applied, and relief is the feeling you get when seeing yourself in the mirror as the redness disappears quickly, hiding any signs of that wedding party you were at way to late last night. Of course this does not get the stench of cigarettes off your clothes, or clear the thoughts of how bad your dancing may have been.
Description
Visine Advanced Relief is a unique eye drop formula that combines the proven redness-relieving power of Visine Original with three moisturizing ingredients to cool, soothe and refresh irritated eyes.
Warnings
- Pupil may become enlarged temporarily
- Overuse may cause more eye redness
- Remove contact lenses before using
- Do not use if the solution changes color or becomes cloudy
- Do not touch tip of container to any surface to avoid contamination
- Replace cap after each use
Also ask a doctor before use if you have narrow angle glaucoma or if breast feeding or pregnant, ask a health professional before use. As with all medications, keep out of the reach of children.
I wanted to comment on several of these because I have had some less than pleasant experiences with them.
First, I have experienced Overuse which led to a much worse condition, I thought if I kept using it it would help heal a scratch on my eye. Incorrect it made my eye tender, more sensitive, and extremely red. Too much of a good thing is apparently bad.
Second, please heed the warning about removing contacts, when placing the drops in your eyes while the contacts are still in causes discomfort and stickiness, which can be equivalent to blinking and the contact sticks to the top of your eye lid. (Very unpleasant and somewhat dangerous while driving)
Third, I accidentally left the cap off once, which allowed me to touch the applicator tip. Yeah not so good my eyes became very irritated and burned a bit when I applied the solution.
Storage
Store at 15° to 25°C (59° to 77°F)
You might ask why the heck this is important? Unfortunately I left it in my car one hot summer day, and the solution became cloudy and warm when I applied this to my eye, I believe the neighbors called 9-1-1. (Not good)
Consult a physician if:
- You feel eye pain
- Notice changes in vision
- Redness or irritation of the eye lasts
- Condition worsens or lasts more than 72 hours
The receptionist at work was using Visine Redness Reliever, and she actually had a condition called Pink Eye, which Im sure you have heard of, however this product does not cure that. Yet she kept applying it for days, and I finally questioned her and told her to get that checked out.

Overall
Visine Redness Relief is an excellent product that does exactly what it claims. I use it frequently as I get up around 4:30 AM everyday, which allows for my eyes to be a bit bloodshot and dry when I first wake up. I recommend being careful though, as from my experience if you do not use the product as intended or follow the instructions your relief will turn into discomfort.
