Pros: Gentle, doesnt burn/sting, nice cooling sensation @ initial appl. & a trusted brand!~
Cons: None!~ (except the cost but worth it)
In the past year especially, I have noticed my eyes just seem to be "dry". I used to keep the regular Visine (get the red out) one in my medicine cabinet. I got into the habit of using it every day.
I began to notice that it was no longer working for my eyes and it seemed my eyes were getting worse. We had our family eye doc appts. and when it was my turn I had questioned whether or not it was a bad idea to use eye drops "daily" due to dry eyes. His immediate response was "only use natural teared ones". He also said that when you use the ones to "get the red out" and use it "daily" that I was only making matters worse. Basically like how you take headache meds too much therefore you get rebound headaches and they no longer work. Well I had told him my eyes seemed to gotton worse and more reddened and then I could not wear makeup anymore and just a real pain in the you know what!
He gave me a couple names to try out and I went through a couple but rather found that this simple and trusted name of "Visine" was THE brand I would be accustomed to using.
It is now a staple in my home. When the bottle gets a little under half empty, I have it on my grocery list once again!~ :-) There were other drops I had tried even with recommendations from customers I ran into in the isles at the grocery store. What I found with those were not only were they even MORE expensive then this Visine Tears*, but some were even for allergy eyes (which I thought might work but found that they didnt, for me anyways-- just my opinion). Reason being was that the allergy ones burned my eyes upon applying. I did not like that feeling! Kinda scarey to me! I was told they would but that is how those particular ones worked. I ended up giving all the allergy eye drops to familiy/friends.
So this is what our family now uses. There are a couple sizes and I now can not remember whether I have the large one here with me as I type this review(?) or this is the smaller one. In any event, I know there are at least two sizes and if and when I see the larger I grab that one. If something works well, I do not mind the price as much.
The one I have is 1 fluid ounce. The bottle is the eye dropper itself so no other things needed. Just take out the box, unscrew the top and put 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed. Children under 6 (per the bottle) you will need to ask a doctor.
I am trying to not use even this gentle Visine Tears Lubricant Drops every day as I was before --- WHY YOU ASK??? welp... "just because". I guess I am testing myself and trying to not "rely" on anything for my eyes. But this is so gentle and CAN be used on a daily basis.
It is for Dry Eye Relief which:
On the back it shows your EXPIRATION DATE (which Im starting to investigate almost everything and anything I buy anymore from foods to makeup to skin care and whatnots). It is just nice to know there is one so when you get in to your deep cleaning to try and "trash" your stuff wondering if it is outdated or old, you will not need to have to call the 1-800#'s to have to read them codes on the bottles etc to find out expiration dates! Arggh! What a pain! I think EVERYTHING should have expiration dates!
Glycerin 0.2%, Hypromellose 0.2%, Polyethylene
glycol 400 1%
WARNINGS: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN! If swallowed, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.
CAUTION: Do not use if Visine imprinted neckband on bottle is broken or missing.
