Visioneer 5800 USB
I used the scanner for about three months and found it good for my simple photo scanning purposes.
Then an error message appeared that the scanner was locked. There is no lock. After fax correspondence with Visioneer, I uninstalled and then re-installed the software, Still locked with no lock.
The second part of the Visioneer help message said that if the scanner still had the lock problem, bring it back to the store where purchased. Best Buy where I had purchased it said they would take nothing back after 30 days and to go back to Visioneer.
Still can't get an answer from Visioneer.
Reading other bulletin boards I've learned that this phantom lock problem is common and that Visioneer has been no more helpful to other purchasers than to me.
I'm unlikely to buy a Visioneer product again.
