| gwsneo's Full Review: Visioneer OneTouch 5800 Flatbed Scanner |
Easily installed software, choice of twain or automatic, button operation...good reproduction and really fast scanning. The 5800 Visioneer replaces a 4400 model, and the size is identical. However, speed is considerably faster and the option of button selection for automatic e-mail, printer or scanner configuration adds great flexibility.
Quality of color and general image reproduction is high.
I have used a Umax unit - an older model costing considerably more - and find the value of this 5800 so much greater that it is apparent that there have been tremendous strides in the scanner field.
I note also that the 5800 has a power connection as well as USB, and apparently this signifies capability to scan three dimensional objects as well as flat stock. I have used only for the latter - both printed material and photographs, but not slides or negatives.
