| slevine215's Full Review: Visioneer PrimaScan Colorado 2400u Flatbed Scanner |
I purchased this unit about 6 months ago at Staples. They had it on sale for $19 after rebates, so I couldn't resist. After some trouble setting it up with the USB connection (Hint -- it doesn't like hubs), I scanned in my first image. I also noticed that the images scanned upside down, but this was minor. The quality of the scan was very goodfor a scanner of this price, but wasn't the quality of, say a $150 HP.
About two weeks ago scanned images started to look very dark. It simply was unusable. After emailing customer service their response was to unplug the unit and reboot my computer (among other superficial things I already tried). I told them that and they sent another list of things for me to try -- which, again I had done already. After the third email, I got a response asking me to try number of steps to fix the problem -- BUT IT WAS EXACTLY THE SAME AS THEIR FIRST EMAIL TO ME! Now my latest email has been bounced back without a response and I'm going to buy an HP. Even if they offered to replace it, I would have to spend more money to send it back than it cost me to begin with. Like I said, you get what you pay for
