Pros: Easy to set up, cheap.
Cons: Scanned fine for a little while, then images became pixellated. Software isn't that good.
The Bottom Line: It's great the first time you install it... but be careful if you try to install it a second time after, say, a hard drive crash.

| crackrzz's Full Review: Visioneer PrimaScan Colorado 2400u Flatbed Scanner |
I received this scanner as a gift for my birthday last year. I think it was something like $125 CDN at the time, at Wal-Mart. I had no problems setting it up. The software was intuitive but when you see the final preview, it doesn't reflect how it will look in full. That's the problem I'm having now.
It scanned great jpgs for my web site when I first used it... but ever since my hard drive crashed in November and I reinstalled it, jpgs now turn out extremely pixellated. I can forget scanning at 75 dpi... I can't even see the subject.
I've been able to wing it by saving the file as a bmp and changing it to a jpg, but it should come out as a clear jpg from the start. I hope I'm not the only one with this problem... maybe I set it up wrong?
