Vitamin B-12 is another one of those vitamins that you can take to help yourself overcome some of those nagging medical conditions that you may be suffering from.
Did you know that having too little iron in your diet can lead to anemia? That can lead to tongue inflammation that will also lead to interference's with your sense of taste. Well, researchers have also found that deficiencies in Vitamin B-12 can also cause these same similar symptoms.
A B-12 deficiency can also cause pernicious anemia. This could then rob your mouth of much needed fluids and cause you to have a dry mouth. A daily multiple vitamin supplement will be quick to resolve this annoying problem.
When your body is suffering from a lack of Vitamin B-12, you may suffer from malaise. This is a general feeling of unwellness. Taking B-12 supplements should bolster your spirits. If you are older, B-12 may also help your blood. This will most often be done through B-12 injections which will more than likely be given at your doctors office.
It is important to see your doctor if you are suffering from malaise due to a B-12 deficiency. It can also be the sign of more serious problems such as:
an ulcer
internal bleeding
cancer
Be sure you talk to your doctor to see if starting a regiment of B-12 would be the answer for you. Sometimes it may not be.
If you are suffering from a slick or smooth tongue, this too may be a sign of pernicious anemia. Again, this can be caused by a B-12 deficiency. This should be discussed with your doctor, who may treat it with B-12 injections or just a daily supplement. In the mean time you should eat foods that are high in B-12. These foods would include:
Fish
Low-fat yogurt
Cottage Cheese
Another symptom that one might suffer from if they are deficient in B-12 would be difficulty walking. A vitamin B-12 deficiency often times produces numbness in the extremities and a disturbed sense of balance. This will then lead to gait changes.
As always, you should consult your physician when you are suffering from any medical condition. Just remember, the answer may be as simple as an addition of B-12 to your daily diet.
The particular B-12 Vitamin that I use is from Vita-Smart.
