| meesh24's Full Review: Vitamin B-5 (Pantothenic Acid) |
i am now almost 19 and i have always had pimples on my face since i was about 13 or 14. they were never "normal" acne pimples, they were always big ones that would get infected deep under the skin...it was gross because they had puss in them and stuff. i remember looking at my friends, envious of their clear skin. everytime i would make a wish it would be for clear skin!!! i have tried almost every acne product out there; including proactiv, birth control pills, creams, facials, facial steaming, herbal pills, and antibiotics (which worked only as long as i took them for).i am now in my freshman year of college and the last thing i need to worry about is my acne, which has gotten particularly bad since i have been here. i used to get like 2 or three new pimples everyday. i was desperate, so i started searcing online and i started reading about b5 for acne. the stuff i had read about it seemed legitimate...the dr who did the study said that acne is a deficiency in pantothenic acid...where one doesn't metabolize the fats in their body so the oil gets ejected out of the skin. so i have been taking roughly 3-5 grams of b5 a day that i ordered from twinlab(which is supposedly good product) and over the past few days that i have been taking it, my skin has become a lot less oily and my acne is healing and barely any new pimples have popped up. so far, this is the only thing that has ever worked for me, and i hope it continues working! i urge anyone and everyone with acne to try this before resorting to dangerous things like accutane. accutane is a derivative of vitamin a, which is fat soluble, meaning it builds up on your tissues and can be potentially toxic. vitamin b5, however, is water soluble, meaning it doesnt get absorbed by tissues so it is not toxic. TRY IT! i have heard that b5 has a higher success rate than accutane. start with 5 grams a day and go up to 10 if needed.
