Pros: Great camera for the advanced user as well as the beginner.
Cons: Will eat batteries in less than a day if you are not careful.
The Bottom Line: I would definitely recommend this camera to the minor enthusiast with a word of caution. Don't use the LCD display unless absolutely necessary. Great pictures, great fun!

| fleaguthrie's Full Review: Vivitar ViviCam 3615 Digital Camera |
You can set up a website or print your own pictures using the Vivitar 3615. This camera attaches easily to your PC with a USB cord and takes a great picture. Depending on what resolution you choose, you can take anywhere from 8 to 60 pictures without clearing your memory. You can also buy a larger memory add-on to take even more pictures.
Beware the battery monster! What most people do not tell you about digital cameras is that they can consume a set of batteries (usually 2 to 4 AA batteries) in no time at all. The main reason these cameras use up so many batteries is that everyone wants to see the picture in that neat little screen on the back. Guess what? The neat little screen eats ten times the battery power than when you do not use it.
Solution - only use the screen when you are deleting images after you transfer them to your PC. Use your PC as the editor and eliminate unwanted pictures after you download them to your PC. It only takes a minute or two.
Overall, this has been a great camera. The resolution is high enough to get a great picture that you can enlarge on any photo machine. It is durable and compact; easy to take wherever we go. My wife and I had our first baby recently and received the camera as a gift. In three months we have taken about 600 photos, we have put up a website for the family to view photos, and we have only used one set of batteries. This is an inexpensive camera that makes you feel like you are on the road to being a pro. Good luck and say "cheese"!
