lllovemakeup's Full Review: Volatile Expulsion Sneaker for Women
First, let me say that I own the suede version of the Volatile Expulsion Sneaker for Women. You can view a picture of mine here . (They are the blue tennis shoes.)
While looking at shoes on the Internet about six months ago, I ran across this shoe and immediately fell in love. I loved the colors, thought they looked fun, knew they would go with lots of casual outfits, but the clincher was…they would make me tall!!
Particulars:
These shoes are constructed of dark blue suede with contrasting blue and white, tie-dye colored, cushioned, satin-type material. As with many Volatile tennis shoes, these shoes feature a prominent letter “V” on the side. The “V” on my shoe is made of man-made upper, and is securely stitched to the shoe. The tongue is amply padded and the name “Volatile” is embroidered on it.
This shoe features a perfectly rounded toe, which leaves wiggle room for the wearer’s toes. There are twelve holes for the well-thought-out dark blue laces, which are round and woven, which keeps them securely tied all day.
The foam sole features a light blue and dark blue horizontal stripe. The foam sole is 1” tall at the front of the shoe and tapers out to 1.5” at the back. Molded to the bottom of the foam is a rubber sole with a chevron pattern for outstanding traction. The rubber sole goes almost to the top of the shoe in front as well as in back. The back of the shoe also has the Volatile logo, which is a “V” with flames rising out of it.
My experience:
I purchased the Volatile Expulsion Sneaker for Women online for around $40. When I opened the box, I was pleased to see these shoes are more vibrantly-colored than they look online. I laced them up, tried them on, and…huh. Cute, but run a little small. I did a little research on these shoes and discovered they can tend to run ½ size small. Pfft. Turns out, the rounded toe saved me. Because of the extra toe-room, these shoes are still wearable for me. I pranced around the house looking (I’m sure) like the Glamazon I’ve always dreamed of being. :) The foam sole not only makes me appear taller, it also supplies ample cushion. I can wear these shoes all day and experience no foot discomfort at all. The arch support is firm, and the area of the shoe that sits just below my ankles is nicely padded. As for the material, they still look brand new...I'm sure that has a lot to do with the fact that I sprayed them with Scotchguard twice before wearing them.
I’ve worn these with jeans, shorts, and capris. I never fail to receive a compliment when wearing this shoe.
Wrapping it up:
This is a well-made shoe as I’ve worn them often and none of the stitching has come apart, the unremarkable insole is still fully intact and there is no separation of the glued portions of the shoe (where the rubber meets the suede.) I’ve looked all over, and this particular style of shoe is now very difficult to find. I’ve seen it clearanced online in small sizes only, i.e., 6 or 6.5.
Should you be able to find your size, I would recommend this shoe without reservation. I’ve been more than pleased with their performance and construction.
Four glamazonian stars.
Thanks very much for reading and rating!!
