Pros:decent battery life, easy to use, good volume
Cons:frustrating call from caller id issue
The Bottom Line: I would buy this phone again for a cheap handset to use around the house.
Our old phone went the way of the buffalo, so i was left running to Target on a very small budget to buy a cordless for our living room. We have a standard corded phone with answering center in our master bedroom, so i didn't need any frills, just something I didn't have to sit on my bed to use.

This Vtech phone was very inexpensive and fit my needs, so it came home with me. It has caller ID, (Which all of the handsets in target did), it has large enough buttons to use effeciently, and was less than $20!
I will say that I do experience a bit of static from time to time on this unit. It never seems to be for any particular reason, just sitting there talking and I will get some static.k I can turn my head one way or another and sometimes it will go away, but occassionally it just makes a rushing sound, and the static continues. I haven't figured out if this is interference in the signal or the handset. I also can get outside my house and still talk. Not as far as my old handset, but I can be 20 feet or so from my house with minimal static.
The caller id function works fine, we can scan back through our caller ID bank easily with the up arrow or down arrow, nothing to it. The one thing i don't like is that there is a "missed call" counter but no way we have figured out to see WHO the missed calls are from. It seems to be a guessing game. That is very irritating. I don't care if I missed a call if I don't know who the call was from.
The other irritating issue is that you can choose to call a caller ID entry, but since it lists the area code, you cannot actually call from the entry. you have to write down the number, then dial it.
The volume of the phone is plenty loud, which is nice for a change. You have 5 or so volume settings so when my loud mom calls, i can turn it down and when my quiet mother in law calls, it goes up easily.
We don't use the speed dial features, but it does have them.
All in all, for like $15, this phone does what it's supposed to do. The battery lasts the entire day off the cradle, it rings when someone calls, it records the number they call from, and when I call out, I hear someone on the other end.
