Pros:Challenging, fun games that keep your attention, decent graphics compared to other games for this_system!
Cons:Nothing really.
The Bottom Line: Very challenging games, grows with child as they learn, it gets a bit harder to keep them interested!

Cranium’s Partyland Park is a very good game for the V.Smile gaming systems on the market currently. My daughter has taken to it very quickly! The game has a lot to offer and helps her learn at the same time.

The Game

The age group for this cartridge is 4 to 6 year old. They say the game is helpful in teaching the following:

Creativity, Letters, Spelling, Music

Animals, Patterns and sequences, Problem solving

Rhythm, and Singing along

Watching her play and helping her with the new items has been fun for me. I am able to see the selections of games that she has and the things they request her to do.

The following games are in this V.Smile smartridge:

Space Race – This game has you zooming in your spaceship and find objects that are missing. They have a tool bar across the top of the screen (for lack of a better term) and you have to find specific pictures that are grayed out that are needed as you are flying in your space ship. This has their special character Data Head® there to help your child along.

Zooper Zoo – This is where your child finds a particular animal based upon the sound(s) they make.

Mondo Matcher – This is a game that your child puts together animals on a slot machine type game and there are 4 windows that rotate through different sections of an animal’s body. You have to put all of the right pieces together. While you are putting the pieces of the animal together, their special character Creative Cat® helps you along!

Let’s Dance, Dance, Dance – This teaches you dance moves and you have to work on remembering the sequence they showed you. Initially, those moves are shown at the top. As you advance, you are recalling them on your memory.

Monster Music Machine – This has you compose your own music by selecting the instruments that you want to play and the music fits together based upon your choices.

Letter Lounge – This game allows your child to match letters and objects with their helpful Word Worm®.

You can play against family and friends in multiple players for all of the games listed above. You just have to have a second joystick attached!

They have a Sing Along section where you make your own silly or funny songs that you will sing or the microphone feature allows you to sing along while their character Star Performer® dances.

This game was just recently released. They do advise the game conforms to the Safety Requirements of ASTM F963 and the Safety Requirements of Canadian Hazardous Products Toys Regulations.

This game allows for the children to write and sign with the upgraded joystick and microphone. We have the upgraded joystick with the little writing pad included, but I have to experiment further to see how this works in the games.
Right now, my daughter wants to tackle everything and she does not want me to mess with her games while she’s figuring out the basics – how to play them all!

The games challenge my child and advance with her. She can switch levels from easy to difficult. For these, and most of the games for V.Smile an example would be as follows:

For the easy level, the spelling of words would include grayed out letters so that the child can learn how to spell a particular word. The difficult setting shows how many letters there should be with about 2 -3 letters filled in but blanks only for the other letters in the particular word and she has to figure the spelling out herself.

She can set between timers and no timers on the game. So, while learning, she won’t get discouraged by having the timer running out all of the time while she tries to figure out what to do. But, when she’s ready, she can put on the timer and test herself against timed games. She finds these fun and we have told her it’s ok to run out of time. The next time, her goal will be to beat the clock! And, she loves that challenge!

You can find more information about any of the VTech toys at Lwww.vtechkids.com.

Overall Impressions

So far, I have been very impressed with the graphics (some of the other games seem archaic with the programming of the challenges the children face graphically. My daughter is enjoying each and every game.

It gives her a point of reference too, showing her what her current score is and what the highest score has been on the games previous. She loves beating her previous “high score” and will make sure that we see it when it calculates her scores on all of her games to see if she tied or beat the high scores from before!

She is challenged by the game, enjoys playing it and will play it quite a while in one sitting if I let her! That tells me that it is something fun for her and she is enjoying it tremendously! With that said, if you have this system, this game would be a great addition!

~Thank you for spending time with me today~
