Exactly what I was looking for! It works as advertised on my XP SP2 machine and works with my SD cards. I needed a unit to dump my digital images into - and this is perfect.
There is no preview screen but I didn't want one - I just wanted some easy, inexpensive storage capacity - and that's what I got. Plug in the card and push one button...the cards contents are transfered to the self-powered HD. It has very good speed, and is not limited to any certain file type or extension as some units are.
This is not a product specialized for a particular application - it's an extremely portable hard drive/card reader that can be used for many purposes.
I purchased this unit for $149 with a $40 rebate from an online merchant....$109 (after rebate) for 40GB vs. ~$100 for 1GB card....not a difficult choice.
The unit is well built, is light (8oz), and small - a perfect companion for any week-end to extended vacation outing.
