This is a wonderful machine! I’ve owned one for over a year now and it still runs great. That’s saying a lot for year-round Florida mowing. The mower was easy to assemble. It comes with a mulch insert, a side-discharge insert, and a bag; so, you can choose what method you want to use. It is easy to adjust both the cutting height and the handle position.
The battery holds the charge for a long time. I can mow the entire yard on a single charge and still have power left. For me, that’s about one and a half hours total mowing with charge still left in the battery. The initial charge takes a while, but recharges do not take long at all. The battery is heavy which makes the mower a little harder to push than a conventional gas mower. However, it did not take long to adjust to the heaviness and it is actually quite maneuverable. The battery is 24 volt. There is a three-tiered battery charge indicator light system that lets you know when charging is needed. The initial charge takes about twelve hours. Recharges can take between 2-6 hours. The light on the charger turns from red to green when ready.
Start-up is a breeze – you just insert and press the key and then pull the handle. It stops a soon as the handle is released. The fact that you do not need to deal with gasoline or oil is a huge plus. And the fact that it is cordless makes it a better value than corded electric mowers. There is a lever on the rear left-hand side of the machine to adjust cutting height. The lever has a rounded head, so it easily fits in the hand. There are six cutting positions. The lever is not difficult to move to change positions. The single lever will change the height for all wheels. The handle can be adjusted to three different height positions. This took me a little time to figure out, even with directions. You have to release levers on each side of the handle, reposition the handle, insert a locking pin, and then reset the levers.
I have a steep incline at the bottom of my front lawn. Because of the heaviness of the mower, it takes me longer to do this section of grass. The mower itself nor I have ever slipped down the slope while mowing, which is a lot more than I can say for the last mower I owned. The manual instructs to mow across the face of a slope. It goes over bumps smoothly. It also runs smoothly through high grass. In Florida, we can get rain every day, so sometimes I have to mow when the grass is damp. When mowing on damp grass the grass will clump out periodically. Otherwise, when the grass is dry, the clippings come out evenly and not noticeable. I have never used the grass collection bag. I mowed using the mulching insert once. This function worked well on the level surface; but when I got to that steep slope, it became very hard to push the mower. So, I went back to using the side discharge. The mulch insert was simple to insert and remove. It cuts very evenly.
According to the manual, the battery is maintenance free. It just suggests that you fully charge it after each use or every two months during storage. It also suggests that you sharpen the blade twice during a season; but I have only done this once because I found the blade to be quite durable. Cleaning is easy. I use a small hand-held whisk broom to clean the exterior and underneath. The only time that is has been harder to clean is when I mow on the damp grass. In that case, I’ll have to remove clumps from the underside before storing.
It came with a 30 day satisfaction guarantee and a 24 month defective part warranty. They use authorized repair agents. The manual provides an address and phone number to locate the nearest agent.
It is durable, environmentally friendly and easy to operate. This is the best mower that I have ever owned.
