Pros: User friendly, VERY fast, Easy one handed operation, good coverage, easy cleanup
Cons: NOISEY!!!!!, detailed cleaning, lots of overspray yet easily controlled
The Bottom Line: There are many bad reviews, but most of them boil down to operator error. Get one and work with, It's worth the time and cost of start up.

| dustin_z's Full Review: Wagner Spray Tech Electric Power Painter |
The painter is a VERY good investment. I had yet another room in my home to paint (been renovating over 2000 square foot for a year now) I decided to bite the bullet, and buy a Wagner after I realized I would have to paint the ceiling and walls in the bedroom and bath.
Initial setup is fairly straight foreward, and operation is simple. After 2 small passes (about 8 feet) the sprayer began to spray clumps instead of the proper mist. I determined that the paint was too thick, so I thinned as per paint manufacturers instructions (as little as needed) and the sprayer began to work wonderfully then. I was able to paint over 200 SqFt of ceiling in under 10 minutes with a single even coat providing good coverage.
The paint bucket works good for small projects, or for mobile projects (fences, etc) but it does run out quickly. Mine holds 34oz, and it will use that in about 5 minutes. I encourage the use of the remote resevior kit when possible.
The trigger on the sprayer is a two figner style to reduce fatigue, and it is worth it. Very easy on that aspect.
The product is EXTREMELY noisey. I was able to use some standard "gun muff" style ear muffs, and this made the painter a joy to use. I also heavily encourage the use of a respirator, or at the least a dust mask as it does produce a mist. Speaking of mists, make SURE to cover or mask ANYTHING you don't want painted as it does have alot of collateral painting.
Clean up was fairly simple. Wagner says to put all parts of the sprayer in the bucket and attach the cleaning top, and run for about 30 seconds. I did this, but let it run for about 5 minutes, adjatating it about every 30 seconds, until there was no paint residue running from the paint container. I then took the parts to my kitchen sink and used the supplied cleaning brush, and a 1/16" drill bit to clean everything else. To clean everything to like new condition took about 15 minutes. Cleanup was straight foreward, but detailed and not real hard, just take your time.
It does require a new spray tip every 7-10 gallons for latex, and the tips are about $6 at Lowes.
All in all, I am very pleased with the product, and the purchase. It does take a few minutes of practice and tinkering with it to find the proper spray technique. It has already made itself worth the $79 cost.
