The holidays are upon us. You might not quite think of Walker’s Pure Butter Shortbread as Christmas cookies, but they are fitting with being a decadent treat. Walker’s Pure Butter Shortbread are just about my favorite cookie to enjoy anytime. They practically melt in your mouth. They are perfect. Not too fancy, not too sweet, they are just right. These little wonders are baked into a rectangular stick shape. They are about four inches in length and ¼ inch thick. Again, they are perfection in a cookie. They go great with coffee, tea, milk or are still absolutely delicious by themselves. They are not too crumbly and have just the right smooth buttery texture. When compared with other shortbread cookies, they are supreme.

Yes, Walker’s Pure Butter Shortbread are fattening, but as the saying goes, anything delicious is. There are some cookies out there that shall remain nameless that are not worth the calories, in my humble opinion. Walker’s definitely are worth that New Year’s resolution.

8 servings per container (only eight cookies, but they are very rich). I purchased my box with the distinctive red tartan Scottish design at World Market for $2.99. Once again, I purchased the box solely for the purpose of conducting research. Somebody’s gotta do it! Actually, I might have to go get another box, because they are a favorite in our home.

Complete list of Ingredients: wheat flour, butter, sugar, salt (Wow, how do they make those four simple ingredients taste so heavenly?) This is the same recipe that the family has been using for over 100 years, simple and delicious!
