Cons: Messy, waste collection area fills up quickly
The Bottom Line: It can be very messy, which can make cleaning a pain. But it does make juice for a very cheap price, so if you don't mind cleaning, I would recommend.
chucky7's Full Review: Waring JEX328 400 Watts Juicer
I bought this Juicer at Best Buy for 80 dollars. For the money, I would recommend this juicer, but there surely are better models out there.
I bought this product because I am experimenting with the concept of a raw food diet. So I am trying to find ways in which a busy college student can eat raw fruits and vegetables. For a raw foodist, juicing is a necessity. Before purchasing the Waring, I scoured the internet for reviews of the different juicers I was interested in. This was the cheapest, and since I am a first time juicer, I decided to try my luck with this model.
I juice approximately twice a day, mostly juicing fruits and carrots. Sometimes I make juice only for myself, but other times I will make juice for 2 to 4 other people. The motor is powerful, except when youre on the sixth or seventh piece of fruit and the waste collection area becomes filled. This puts extra strain on the motor and slows it down. So if youre making 20 ounces or more of juice, you may need to clean out part of the machine before you can finish.
Other reviews have complained about juice coming out the seams. This does happen occasionally when using very juicy fruits, and is very annoying. My model not only leaks there, but one-third of the time also leaks at the very bottom of the unit where the base fits on. This is even more annoying, since that area is quite tedious to clean and is supposed to stay clean if the unit was working properly. To clean when the unit doesnt leak takes approximately 3 minutes; but when it does leak, plan on spending about 7 or 8 minutes.
This model is adequate juicer for a beginning juicer who doesnt want to spend too much money. But if you are more experienced in juicing and want something with fewer problems, I would suggest a bit more expensive juicer. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
