Pros: Nice looking. Easy to install
Cons: Unaccptable clamping mechanism. Drips from the showerhead and from the connecting mechanism.
The Bottom Line: Acceptable if you want a hand held shower and don't care if you can't adjust the direction accurately. Not acceptable if you have a caddy for soap shampoo etc.

| swampfox42's Full Review: Waterpik Original Shower Massage Shower Head Sm 65... |
I purchased the original Water Pik Shower Massage in about 1978 and used it until February of this year when I sold the house I was in and thought I would be able to buy a new one. Unfortunately the new ones have a fatal design flaw making them unacceptable for me. This became very clear because the house I purchased has one in the master shower. The design flaw is the connecting clamp mechanism. The old one allowed the handle to be securely held just below the showerhead itself. A slight twist of the handle disengaged or engaged the clamp securely and the direction of the shower remained the same as it was when the showerhead was disconnected. One could adjust the direction of the shower according to ones desire. The new ones have a sliding clamp at the bottom of the showerhead handle and it does not allow an accurate adjustment in the direction of the spray. It is also clumsy when re-connecting it to the clamp. Many people have a caddy for soap and other items hanging from the show outlet and the new water pik unit is even more difficult to use and less adjustable. The new arrangement is clearly a little less expensive to manufacture, but with prices in the 40.00 and up range and with products being made in China, the seems to be little reason for the change. It should be noted that my research has not turned up a solution such as the original Shower Massage unit.
