I'm no stranger to dental irrigators. I have owned and used a Conair model, an Oral B model and 2 Waterpik WP-72W models. I have also tested a few others at friends' houses. I am convinced that Waterpik makes the best quality irrigators. The WP-100W is a definite step up from their previous top of the line version (the 72W) in several categories.

The package contains the unit's base, the clear plastic water/solution resevoir, several different "heads" and the resevoir lid. There are some nice design improvements. For one, the lid holds all of the attachments so they don't stick out from the base. Also, the entire unit is narrower and a little bit taller. Finally, the handle and hose are in a much better location. It's no longer a headache to try to stick the handle back onto the base.

The performance of the 100W is about the same as the 72W. The pressure dial goes from 1-10. On setting 10, the pressure is about the same as the 72W. This is still much more powerful than all other brands that I've tried. There's no problem blasting out all the nasty stuff from between your teeth and under your gums. The only minor complaint I have is that the reservoir holds slightly less than the 72W. It's not a significant amount less, but it's still noticeable. While I rarely ran out of solution on the 72W, I find myself having to rush just a little bit more with the 100W. In any case, it's still not a major concern.

I've been extremely pleased with the results since I've started using my Waterpik. I noticed a big difference the last times I went to the dentist. The cleanings were much faster and less uncomfortable than before I started using one. I was quite shocked in particular at how quickly the last cleaning was completed. That definitely tells me that this thing works good.

Overall, I think the WP-100W is a nice improvement over the other Waterpiks, which themselves are much better than any of the other irrigators that I've tried. This is a fairly inexpensive item that can make a big difference. I recommend this unit to anybody looking to get an irrigator.
