Pros: works well for very dry skin; delicious scent
Cons: takes awhile to 'sink' in
The Bottom Line: This is great for people with very dry skin. Slather it on at night and let it work while you sleep. Awesome scent. Great gift, too.

| sshelle's Full Review: Watkins Natural Lemon Cream Shea Butter Jar |
I have a big problem with dry hands, elbows, feet, legs, etc in the winter. I have tried more lotions than I can remember---the 'regular' lotions like Vaseline, Jergen's; the 'different' lotions, like Corn Husker's and Udder Cream; and the 'heavy duty' lotions, like Eucerin and Gold Bond. Nothing really worked to keep my hands from feeling all scratchy and dry, until I found Watkins Shea Butter.
Watkins Lemon Cream Shea Butter comes in a jar with a screw-on lid. It doesn't have a neck, so you can put all of your fingers in and scoop out however much shea butter you need. It is really thick; you could turn the jar upside-down and nothing would come out. I love the smell of the lemon cream -- it smells exactly like those lemon cream bars people make. My mouth actually waters when I use it.
It is really thick, but it rubs in easily. It does tend to keep your hands, feet, etc. 'slick' for awhile afterwards, so I put it on at night. My hands and elbows go from itchy, rough, and dry to perfectly smooth and moist in the morning. I don't put it on during the day often, because it's hard to grab things afterwards. In fact, I put the lid back on the jar after I scoop some shea butter out and before I work it into my hands, so I won't have to mess with a slippery lid afterwards.
One jar lasts me several weeks, applying it liberally to my hands, elbows, and feet every night. When my legs itch, I rub some on there too. It is expensive compared to other lotions, but if you have very dry hands from having to wash them a lot, or from age, or whatever, then this is a great deal. You'd have to use a ton of the other lotions to get the same feeling (if it was possible).
I even give these as gifts--people love to use it for cuticle cream as well. The only other thing I've used that comes close to providing the same amount of comfort is Corona, but it is more greasy and has a weird smell (it's really for animals).
I noticed at Walmart today that they only had the aloe/vitamin E kind of this currently. I hope they get more lemon cream before I need it. I will use the vanilla, but prefer the lemon cream (I LOVE the smell). I've not tried the aloe/vitamin E yet, but I will if it's my only choice, because Watkins Shea Butter really works for me.
