1truluv's Full Review: Robert Brown - We Are Eternal: What the Spirits Te...
This is the first, and only book (so far) by this author, Robert Brown. He is known as the medium's medium. The inside back cover of his book tells the reader that "he has read for celebrity clients such as: Princess Diana, Marlene Dietrich, and the Royal family of India. He is an ordained minister and an ambassador for the International Spiritualist Foundation". I was given this book to read by a friend and I am forever grateful for the opportunity to gain more knowledge about a subject that I whole heartedly believe in. This is not a long book, 210 pages in hard cover.
Aside from the Forward by Peter Close and the Preface the book is divided into three parts.
Part One:
1-Different Country, Same Question!
2-Fantastic Truth of Wicked Lie?
3-Open My Eyes
Part Two:
4-Finding the Truth
5-In My Father's House
6-So What Have the Spirits Told Me?
7-Life After Life
8-Spirits All Around Us
9-Sean
10- So What Can Spirit Communication Do For Us?
Part Three:
Appendix
Two Sittings with Robert Brown
This is the classic "I didn't know I was a medium until... book. I can certainly understand that a small child can't possibly know that what they're seeing is not really there, or that they even have a special gift.
Robert Brown was born in London, England in the 1950's. His mother was almost 40 years old, and he had three sisters and a brother. The first time he actually remembers seeing anything he was 5 years old. His mother was giving him a bath in the sink, when she had to leave to answer the door. He states that she was gone no longer than five minutes when he looked at the window and saw a man laughing at him. He started screaming and, of course his mother came running. He adds,"before you start thinking it was a 'Peeping Tom' we lived five floors up". This would not be the last he would see of 'the laughing man'. The next time he was 8 years old. Looking through some very old photographs ( which he had a great fascination for doing ), he came across an old photo tucked behind another. It just fell out, he says and he knew instantly that he had seen the face before.
He wasn't scared, just curious and went to ask his 'Mum' who the fellow was. It turned out to be her brother whom young Robert has never met as he died "a tragic death, some years before Robert was born. It would be some years later before he even found out the name of his Uncle and, when he asked his 'Mum' how he passed, she told him cancer.
Robert Brown will be the first one to tell you that he didn't believe in the anomaly of the meduims' and psychic's that were at the time, being kept somewhat like a 'secret society' in the U.K. You had to know someone who knew someone to get into a 'reading'. Robert Brown was most certainly a skeptic, and set out to prove that these people were in fact, frauds. He was a teenager when he metPeter Close, a friend of the family who ended up as Robert Brown's mentor throughout most of his life.
I don't really want to reveal much more of what this amazing book has to offer. Robert Brown takes the reader through some very important 'reasons' as to what, and why we are here. He covers very touchy situations, such as 'Suicide, Disease, and Death,( the death of a child as well as the deaths of our pets ). He has, as do most psychic's and medium's, a Spirit guide to help him along this journey.
In the Appendix section of this book he guides the reader through meditation, and advises how to work on your own psychic abilities. Even if you yourself are a die-hard skeptic, I invite you to read this most amazing book.
