Pros: no drips, dishwasher-safe, silicone brush is very durable
Cons: MSRP is absurd
When my husband bought himself a new and absurdly large Weber grill, he then decided to peruse the company web site to check out all of the various accessories that they sold to go along with it. He bought himself a grill cover and lights that mount onto the handle, but he drew the line at a cool measuring cup and basting cup set that Weber was selling for a whopping $25. We already had plenty of measuring cups and brushes, so he certainly didn't need to buy this Weber Style Saucing System at that price. When he saw it at Lowes on sale for just $3.99 because the box was all torn apart, he immediately tossed it into his cart.
About This Product
The Weber Style Saucing System is simply a measuring cup and silicone basting brush with the fancy schmancy Weber name stamped on it. Okay, so it isn't just any cup and brush combination. The cup has an extra long design on which to rest the durable silicone brush which means that the extra sauce drips back into the cup rather than onto counters, tables, etc. It really is a nicely designed little duo, but certainly not worth $25 when most people already have brushes and measuring cups in their homes already.
Both my husband and I have used this Weber Sauce Cup and Basting Brush Set many times now and we really like it. It makes basting BBQ ribs, whole chickens, chicken breasts, and even small pork roasts an easier process. The no-drip factor is lovely and the silicone brush is wonderful because it doesn't stay damp and harbor bacteria like bristle-brushes do. The best part of the whole set is that both pieces are dishwasher-safe which makes clean up a breeze. Is this set worth $20 or $25? Nope. But at $3.99, we agree that it was quite the bargain to get this neat basting set for such a nice price.
