This warming rack was another accessory added to our Weber Kettle Grill. It is now a permanent fixture on the main grilling area and is probably just as dirty.

The warming rack is a little mini grill area with metal "legs" that just sits on top of the main grill grate. It stands about 6 inches above the main grill grate and is curved so it flows with the curve of the kettle grill. It is all one piece construction made of the same metal as the main grill grate and has maintained its original shape and design.
We have used the warming rack for cooking quicker cooking items along with slower cooking items. Often, we put hotdogs or shrimp up there to cook while steaks or chicken are cooking below. With something like hotdogs that cook rather quickly, it perfect for placing them there and letting them slow cook.
Of course, we have also used this to keep other foods warm. It's just high enough that it will keep the food warm without overcooking it, especially if it's not located above a high heat area.
The warming rack is not very large and takes up about 1/8th of the area of the main grate. It's also about 4-5" wide but it has held 8 hotdogs or 3 skewers of shrimp or 4 burgers without crowding.
The warming rack isn't too high that you need to remove it when placing the lid on when cooking is done. I love all of Weber's accessories because you can leave them on the kettle or next to it, place the lid on and be done with it. They have designed their products well.
The warming rack has served us well and shows no signs of slowing down. Another must-have for the Weber grill master.
