callocam's Full Review: Weber-Stephen Products Genesis E-310 (LP) Gas Gril...
After much debate and comparison shopping I chose this weber genesis e310 grill in blue.
My decision was based on a combination of size, features, style, and accessibility. It seems that grills lately have become much larger and complex. Many made of heavy stainless steel and cast iron. And there are countless models to choose from at either Home Depot, Lowes, etc.
I decided to put the grill together myself rather than have Bernies do that. The box is quite large and weighs in around 160 pounds. Take that into consideration.
Once on the deck it was fairly straightforward to put together. The frame and panels went together with good quality screws or 11mm bolts. The quality of the stainless parts are excellent and were packaged with a plastic coating to protect them while you assemble the grill. Just peel away the coating to reveal the metal beneath.
The only snag wasn't noticed until the end of the assembly. There is a separate addendum instruction sheet in orange (should've had blinking lights to attract more attention ;-)). Anyway, this extra addendum called for a install of a stabilizing bracket that goes under the right panel where the controls are located. Fortunately, it wasn't too difficult to install this bracket after the grill was assembled. It required me to remove one bolt to install the bracket.
This grill did not come with a LP tank. To me, at this cost it should come with a tank. So it cost nearly 50 to get a full tank.
There is a handy tank scale inside the grill. You hang the tank and it tells you how much propane you have left. Nice feature.
Cooking with this weber couldn't be simpler. It has a battery (AAA) powered electric starter and 3 burners to use. The cast iron cooking grate doesn't lose heat when you put food on it.
The hood has a built in temp gauge. I set it around 350, and cooked chicken and shrimp easily. And it turned out just perfectly. =)
I look forward to many years of using this weber. Its appears to be worth the price.
