Like a lot of kids (and some adults) my 10 year old sister is in love with Webkinz. She has several of the stuffed animals and some of the charms and other accessories. When Christmas came around, she only wanted two things: the new Hannah Montana cd and more Webkinz. My parents had already purchased the cd, so I decided to buy her the Webkinz. While I was picking out a new Webkinz and accessories, I noticed the Webkinz Gift Bag and decided I was going to buy it even though it isn't a typical Christmas gift bag.
Price
I paid $2.99 for the Webkinz Gift Bag at my local Hallmark store. Since then I have seen this bag at other stores for prices ranging from $2-4 dollars. This bag costs a little more than I normally pay for gift bags, but it is adorable and all the Webkinz lovers I know love it.
The Product
The Webkinz Gift Bag is very cute. The main background is blue with shining stars on it. There are pictures of Webkinz animals on all sides of the bag. There are two handles on the bag that are blue and are made of that shoestring/thin rope that is used on a lot of gift bags. The actual bag is made of paper but it is a good quality and pretty thick for a gift bag. I think the bag would hold up well if it was reused and wouldn't tear too easily.
The pictures on the bag are drawings of the animals like they appear on the website. Both of the long sides (the front and back), have a large Webkinz logo in the top corner and the words "The Hottest Toys with the Coolest Website!" at the bottom. One of the long sides has a beagle peeking from behind the logo, a smiling monkey swinging from a vine below the logo, and a large lion on the side. The other long side of the bag has a pug peeking from behind the logo, a small black and white cat and dancing cow, with colorful music notes around it, under the logo, and a large pig on a blue skateboard with flames on the side. The first short side has a large tree frog with the Webkinz web address (www.webkinz.com) underneath it. The other short side has a large persian cat with the Webkinz logo underneath it.
The Webkinz Gift Bag measurements are 8.5" wide x 3.75" deep x 6.75" high. The display said that is was the perfect size for 2 Webkinz or 3 Lil' Kinz. I put one Webkinz, an outfit still on the card, a charm still on the card, and mousepad with tissue paper in my bag and still had a little bit of extra room.
My Experience
The Webkinz Gift Bag was a big hit with my sister. She obviously knew what she was getting the moment I walked in the door (which might have been a bad thing if I was trying to surprise her) and she couldn't wait to see what exactly was inside. The thing that surprised me though was that she liked the bag as much as the gifts inside. My sister, like a lot of girls her age I know, likes to decorate the walls of her room with anything and everything that catches her eye. So, her Webkinz Gift Bag now hangs on her wall next to her shopping bag from Abercrombie with the "super cute" guy on it. She even told our mom that she needs another Webkinz Gift Bag so that she can see both sides of the bag. All her friends think it's cute too, like a 3-D Webkinz poster.
Final Thoughts
The Webkinz Gift Bag was a good purchase and I'll definitely keep buying more. It's an adorable bag that holds a lot of items and is well made. It does cost a little more than the gift bags I usually buy, but it's not overly expensive. Add in that gift bags can be reused, used to store a few Webkinz, or used as room decor and I'm in love with this bag. I would definitely recommend the Webkinz Gift Bag to anyone who is giving a Webkinz present.
