Webkinz are a popular toy craze for children and adult alike. Years ago it was Beanie Babies from Ty, and now its Webkinz from Ganz. If you are unfamiliar with Webkinz they are a plush toy that comes with a special online code that brings your plush to life in the virtual Webkinz World located at the www.webkinz.com website.
For an in-depth review about how Webkinz works and tips on how best to "play", you can check out my Webkinz "primer" advice piece located here:
Welcome to the Wickedly Addicting World of Webkinz.
Just like Ty came out with the Teeny Beanies, Ganz has introduced Lil' Kinz, which are Webkinz in miniature. The big difference between Webkinz and Lil' Kinz is essentially their size. They are about half the size of Webkinz and their lower price tag is a reflection of that. In the Webkinz world they perform similarly but have a smaller virtual pet icon. Lil' Kinz - They are Webkinz but smaller
About the Lil' Kinz Tree Frog
My 7 year old son has many Webkinz and they seem to be multiplying around here. When he first got started with Webkinz he began by adopting all of the different frogs. The first Lil' Kinz froggy that we adopted was this Lil' Kinz Tree Frog, which I picked up at a local cardstore for just under $6. Even though I purchased it for my son, it was my 2 year old daughter who fell head over heels for this little tree frog, because it looks like the baby tree frogs in Go Diego Go! on Nick Jr. When she started carrying it around in the her Webkinz purple backpack it was officially declared as her own.
The Lil' Kinz Tree frog is one of the better looking Webkinz frogs, though I happen to think that the Lil' Kinz version of the frog and tree frog are both cuter than their full size companions. This little tree frog plush is about 4"x6" and is mostly lime green with a golden yellow belly that has glittery sparkles on it and red eyes, mouth and toes. The tree frogs are not real plushy and the very low pile plush almost looks like a 'skin' which goes well with the idea that this is after all, a frog.
Adopting your Lil' Kinz Tree Frog will give you all the same adoption perks of a full sized Webkinz Tree Frog at about half of the price. Of course, your little virtual pet icon is also tinier too representing that it is the lil' kinz version. The adoption gifts for the tree frog are a Tree Frog Trampoline that your frog can bounce on for exercise (and health points) and a serving of Tree Flog Fly Soup which is a pet exclusive food. You'll also get another exclusive item assigned randomly, some kinzcash and a welcome balloon. Since the lil' kinz tree frog doesn't come with a bed you will want to portion some of this kinzcash towards getting them a bed - my son went with the bed from the lily pad room them but broke away from the theme a bit by decorating his Tree Frog room with one of the jungle wallpapers.
All in all, the Lil' Kinz Tree Frog is a pretty cute little frog, as far as frogs go. And if you have a child in your home who likes Go Diego Go, then the treefrogs big and small are certain to be winners!
