Chicken Oriental Weight Watchers Smart Ones – Very Delicious!

Pros: Quick to prepare, good flavor, decent amount of white meat chicken, and good price.
Cons: Could use more bean spouts and water chestnuts and possibly change white_rice to whole_grain_or_brown.
The Bottom Line: If you want easy meals, delicious taste and a great price, you should try this line of foods!

This is yet another one of the many flavors of Weight Watchers Smart Ones® meals that I found and brought for lunch. These meals are really so decent and at a terrific price, you just cannot beat them at all!
This version, the Chicken Oriental, I found to be like the other meals that Weight Watchers Smart Ones® puts out on the market. Very mild flavor, nothing overpowering and with a decent amount of ingredients and if you are watching the points, very low point!
The Product
This is a single serving frozen meal. It has the following primary ingredients in it:
White meat chicken, carrots, celery, bean spouts, water chestnuts and soy sauce all served over tender white rice
If you watch what the foods are made of, here is the actual listing of the ingredients for you to review. I know there are a lot of people out there watching for particular items and I hope this assists them in seeing what is in it and knowing when they get to the store whether or not they can purchase this.
Cooked enriched white rice (water, enriched rice[white rice, ferric orthophosphate, niacin, thiamine mononitrate, folic acid], cooked glazed white meat chicken (white meat chicken, water, modified tapioca starch, sugar, salt, sodium phosphate, glazed with [water, caramel coloring, modified potato starch]), water, carrots, celery, bean spouts, water chestnuts, soy sauce {water, soybeans, wheat, salt}

Overall Impressions
When I tried this, I was pleasantly pleased with the amount of white chicken in the meal. There was, of course, plenty of white rice (which, personally, I think they should switch to a whole grain or brown rice, but that is just me).
I enjoyed the flavor, as it was not overpowering with the soy sauce and it was not too sweet and not too sour. I noticed there were not a lot of bean spouts nor where there many water chestnuts, which I would have enjoyed having more of in this meal.
It is relatively quick to fix, as the box states you only need about 3 ½ minutes in the microwave. I did this and it was very hot and I had to let it cool down some. As with most meals, I wonder about the sodium content and why this particular brand seems to have higher sodium counts. I know it is likely due to flavor and without it, they apparently cannot achieve the delicious flavor that these Weight Watchers Smart One meals seem to have.
If you are not worried about that (the sodium) and are looking for decent meals for lunch at work that are easy to carry, prepare and eat, this should be on that you check out. I usually can find these for 3 for $5 my local stores. Otherwise, they normally seem to run around $2.90 approximately.
